Im looking at going brushless and I want to know about this motor. Obviously looks very nice but one thing that concerns me is the fan. Isnt a fan on the rotor a bit overboard, wont it add a LOT of extra drag on the rotor that the cooling it adds would be able to nullify

The "fan" 'cause it's not a real fan as we could imagine, is very thin and thus the drag is poor at high RPM. The airflow at full RPM is just enough to cool down the motor.
I hope it will help ![]() Cheers Olivier |

Yes, a fan (in fact it rather looks like a large black washer) glued on rotor axle and it takes place just between front endbell and stator wires. You can easilly look at it through airflow holes, just spin rotor and you will notice this part rotating with...

Sounds like the fan is a bit pointless, doesnt even seem like it works like a fan, just unneeded drag. Was going to go for the orion because its sintered but the fan has put me off. Think Ill just go with the Nosram Storm Evolution, does anyone know if sintered will become legal for these anytime soon?

I get what he means now the fan does reduce heat and the motors are very very good i have the 7.5 and its very powerful and very quick. IMO they are they best brshless on the market. Orion rules
