I'm not refering to a dodgy 80's TV show but who do we think is the greatest rc racer these fair Isles have given us?
I've been sifting through some old skool mags and started to think about the good ol days. My money would be on Jamie Booth. He finished second at the '87 Worlds and in later years had a crack with the Tamiya Avante before buggering off to 1/8. I reckon most people are gonna go for Drescher but have a think and see who else you can come up with.

Mr Spashet, hasnt done too bad for himself, quite a few World Champ's to his name, but doesnt seem to have been an offroader.

All-time, you would have to say Spashett just because of the number of major titles he has got.
I have seen him race and obviously he is very fast. In 2007, I think the best off-road driver is Neil Cragg, best on-road is Andy Moore. |

Would definetly have to say Ellis Stafford, not old enough to no all the "old skool" drivers. But the first big race i watched was Ellis leaving other drivers in the dust lol

You'll always get different answers as it depends on what people belive makes the best driver.............Does winning a worlds matter??
If you're looking for someone that has gone well across classes, then you probbaly have to say Craig. Because he's been there abouts in various classes for a long period of time, without ever winning a worlds. Jamie is maybe one of the most talented drivers we've had. Have seen him turn up half way through big meetings and still challenge for the overall win Neil has obviously won a worlds, and if he carries on at current rate, then will have to be classed as one of the best. David Spashett has 4 world titles I think ( His touring ISTC wasn't "technically " a world championship). His dedication over the years has been huge. With major attention to detail and dedication. Had a go at Electric Off rd a few years ago, but didn't think much to it i don't think. Obviously now plying his trade with 1/8 rally cross. |

Jamie, I once heard someone say if he'd just laid off the booze a little he could have done much better
and just look at what he did while on the booze! G
