Hi Guys,
Just after a little advice really. I have a orion element 19T brushed motor and its just died??? It will work for 2-5 mins then just stop turning?? Checked esc, connections, brushes etc. and it appears to be the motor itself. If I take it out and leave it 2 mins and connect it to a battery it spins????? Any ideas will be gratefully received. Thanks, Gav. |

Hi,
Please find photos as requested. http://s582.photobucket.com/albums/ss269/a1gav/Motor/ The brushes are about 9mm outer and 8mm centre. Had a quick play with the brushes first time it played up but the same thing happened 10 mins later. Thanks, Gav. |

If the commutator is dirty (i.e. black) and the brushes are old this sometime happens. Don't forget to check the springs, if they are too old they loose their springyness

Hi,
Comm is a little dirty but nothing too excessive. I've given it a wipe. I don't think the brushes are too short or worn. The springs don't appear too slack when cold but not sure when warm. I don't have any caps attached but should I, could that be an reason?? Thanks, Gav. |
