Which brushless motor?

I need a new motor but not got a clue which to get. Im not a giddy driver that needs stupid amounts of power, just something good and reliable. I was thinking about a 6.5t or 7.5t
What does most people run? ive heard x12's are good but run really hot and i dont really like the idea of that. Im open to suggestions from people who have experience of different motors, not just someone telling me to get something just because they run one.
