hi all.
i am new to the rc scene but bought and built a tto1e last week. i found a place outside where i can run it without being hassled but the terrain is loose tarmac and the odd puddle of water. the water i can try my best to keep out of as i realise it wont do the car any good, but the chassis and everything else was full of bits of tarmac. sorry this is so long winded zzzz. has anyone fabricated inner wheel arches to stop all this debris getting inside the car and wreaking havoc. i must have spent ten minutes holding it upside down shaking all the stones from it hope someone can help regards Stan ![]() |

I guess you could 'Make' somthing to steer the stones away with a few off cuts of an old shell and some double sided tape and form some cleverly.
One thing id wach out for would be stones near youre spur gear (the mean drive gear) if youre on loose dirt / stone it would be very easy for one to chip a tooth or get caught causing damage. It wouldnt be that hard to create a spur gear cover ![]()

You may want to look at a chassis cover, that fits snuggly over the chassis, and protects it from stone and water ingress. It isn't a daft idea either.

Not a daft idea.
I can remember my first RC car; a HPI RS4 Rally... And that had a really nice inner shell. I think the Associated TC has an optional inner shell; so maybe it could be modified to fit? Julius. |
