instead of buying a £150 compressor, can i use a car tyre electric compressor pump and adapt that using a regulator, or would i need a regualtor, or would it not work?

what pressure does it go up to?
I run pactra / solvents through at around 25-30psi but faskolor has to be put through at around 45+ depending on the colour. I used to have a hobby compressor but it wasnt powerful enouhg for faskolor. if you stick to solvents then you will be ok. My tutorial (mentioned above) is fairly basic. most of the work to make it look fancy is in the design and the cutting of the mask. the secret is to take your time. a lot of people want to rush it through to see the finished thing but it doesn't work like that. Beleive it or not I bunked out of art school to favour work, so most of my skill ![]() ![]() |

Always paint the darkest colour first rather than the largest area colour. That's all I know...

mask and paint the inside. maybe you and the airbrush are not such a good idea...
Back to the tyre to supply the airbrush: These generally are a bad idea. A friend of mine tried it this way, and the pressure in the tyre ran out well before he wanted it to, meaning he spent more time pumping up the tyre than painting. However, to start with for practice, this is the cheapest option.
