Hi guys, after a lot of thought I've decided that I'm going to get a pred in the new year. I've had a close look at most other 4wd cars and something keeps drawing me back to the pred!.
I have a few questions if you don't mind,I've been told you guys are a good bunch ![]() The original pred was a bit tempramental to say the least(trying to space the driveshaft with those gold spacers for one). What is it like now for quality of build and reliability?. I would imagine it's lots better now. Also, what is the availability of spares like?. Where other than the pred site do u get your parts from?. Cheers in advance, Phill. ![]() |

The crown wheels and pinions are vastly improved to the original cars, I still try to shim the diffs correctly but there is a greater tolerance now, I think I might only have one shim in each diff. I also used to need to regrease the diffs after every meeting to help prevent wear but I only do it after every 4 meetings or so now.
Apart from direct from xtreme you can now get spares from http://theraceplace.co.uk/osCommerce...hp?cPath=34_68 but I haven't actually ordered anything from them yet so I can't say anything about their service.

Hi Brooksy,
First of all... good choice of car ![]() The build is very easy, one of the easiest cars i have ever built. And probably one of the quickest to build. The new Lipo chassis will ease things a bit more asthis will have the holes etc filled and drilled for you. The pushrod mod is pretty simple and you can get details on here or on the pred website. The car is very reliable now and in my opinion it is one of the strongest. But just like with any car you will break things, i did the best strengh test at Southport when my team mate drove over my car!!!!!! I picked it up after and even those that ran over to look couldn't believe as i drove it up and down the path. It broke the top front ball joint...... SOLID The Raceplace sell Team Xtreme products so that is another source. Anything else you need help with just ask.

Cheers guys. I've had a look at the b44 and the losi xx4(second hand as it's a bit dated now) and to be honest I don't think they suit my kind of driving. I like something different from the norm that will be a bit of a challenge.
I'm hoping I can pick one up second hand(as I can't afford a new one) at the beginning of jan so I can race it at Worksop indoor series. What would you say the main spare parts I would need other than wishbones and other front end parts. I know you run big bore shocks and the new orange(I think) steering arms. ![]() |
