Mmmmmm Big Bore Shocks!

Just seen Jimmys The Players pre report and see the new big bore shocks and springs!

They look superb! When are they out??

What performance gains will they give? I suppose being big bore you have a larger volume of oil so you can run lighter oils and get a different pack to the shock?

In theory, if all things are equal the shocks characteristics shouldnt change too much.

A large shock capacity will help with greater consistency and the oil not having to work as hard therefore lasting longer and requiring less maintenance.

But with new pistons shapes, number of drilled holes, as well as revised springs, I think that some fine tuning will be necessary to get the best from them.

I'm more interested in the tuning springs tbh.. where can i get those from? I like how the weight is etched into the spring.. are any available for the standard shocks?

None of the big bore shocks or springs are avaliable yet.
They are being tested and will be out when they are happy with them.
We all want a set, but only an elite few have had a go, the rest of us must be patient, haha.
And no springs like this have been made for the normal shocks as far as I know.

apart from the ones you get with xray tc they have the rate stamped on them the taper is to clear the lower arm seems a bit of a bodge if you ask me.

the shock never pass the wishbone, dont think it does on any car,the spring taper is so that the std spring retainer can be used im guessing,a large flat sring retainer might catch the wishbone,
