Default New to the X-6..... Few questions if you please.

Hello there.

Decided to finally take the plunge and get me an x-6.

I actually purchased 2 cars, one x-6 (4 gear with mods )and a squared that was virtually std. Both cars came with e speed hangers, longer cvd's and the 4 gear had the losi shocks. I then basically stripped them both down and made a car with all the aftermarket bits on.

A few pics of the car,

So far i have a few questions.

The steering arms, dont give fill lock, as they hit the wishbones when on full droop,

if i move the spacers to the bottom, this should help, but does it have any impact on the handling at all.

The rear of the car, seems extremely super droop. the cvd's are really close to the wishbones, i appreciate that when its on the ground, its no where near, but when i jump etc, it looks like they may rub slightly. The ball cups are also very close to the inside of the wheel. Iv just noticed that iv fitted them on the wrong way as well ha ha. oops will change that.

The shocks, are losi ones. again, how do i know if they are the correct ones, where do i measure the bodies and shaft lengths from and too.
And what is the correct measurements that i should have.

iv also took the plunge and ordered a cheapy ezrun 5.5t £60 delivered for speedo, motor and prog card, so im gonna try it, before sticking a gtb in there. Has anyone ran one, and if so. What gearing are you on. I think my car has a 78t spur on there.

Im just debating on whether i should buy the brass kit, as it looks fab and will also aid with the handling. Maybe the money i saved on the speedo combo, will be better spent on some brass.

Whats everyones fav lipo for the car as well, i have a tp 4900 , that i usually use in my t4, but im thinking of buying another one, as i also have a madrat, and a second stick lipo, means i can run the rat or t4, without having to swap over.

Thanks and i look forward to running the car.

Col.

This is it when compressed slightly, it will be 10 times better when the radio gear and weight is in there, but even so, it reminds me of a rock crawler with all that potential ground clearance

the clearance on the cvd /drive shafts is fine mate that x6 squared all over , on the rear hub and ball jiont if your running b4 rear huhs you ll be fine too

as for the front steering arms not clearing the wishones again that will be fine dont forget if your turning a right corner for example its the opposite side thats taking the cornering pressure and the steering arm will be at full turn on the right and against the wishbone ,,,this will not make much difference buddy as the insde wheel in a corner does help with initial bit as you turn in

the steering arm is in the lower position at the which will give you good steering .... if its too much just set at the middle to ease it off ,,, hope that helps mate ,,,, im sure some of the full x factory drivers or darren will add some more light on other bits mate

tp lipo 4900 25c will be good too buddy

Your running the new squared rear wishbones with the old shock tower on the rear which you shouldn't do as it changes the rear geometry of the car! You need the newer squared tower on it if you've got that.
For the rear shocks should have a 3mm internal washer inside to limit the droop a little as looks like theres too much there.
If you put a few interenal spacers in the front shocks too then they will stop hitting the front wishbones when at full droop but as Blitz says it doesn't matter too much.
