From the BRCA rulebook:
22.1 Cars entered for Off Road competitions will be reasonable representations of full size cars generally accepted as being suitable for Rallycross, Rallying, Trail and Desert races. 22.2 Open roll cage style cars will be permitted to compete if the entrant can supply proof that the car is closely based on a full size example. 22.3 The roll cage of any open car must enclose all the drive and guidance equipment. 22.4 Any commercially available 1/10th scale body shell may be used other than open-wheeled Formula 1 shells or sports racing shells. 22.5 In the case of open cockpit cars, a realistic driver figure must be included. So basically if it looks like a scaled down version of something that goes off road it's fine. Doesn't need windows, but if it doesn't have windows it must have a driver figure on top of it. Windows don't need to be clear though. |

I thought they prefered them to be clear, to allow for easier scrutineering of cells?

In BRCA off road you could even strap a Subaru Impreza shell on top (anything that runs off road!) and it is still legal, not sure if it would help the handling though. The only other rule that's relevant is that the ESC must not poke through the body - rules don't say anything about the servo or receiver though! |
