Default Spur gear carrier "play"

Just started building my DEX, (loved the build so far) but now i've noticed, that, once assembled, the central spur gear carrier has a fair amount of play. The bearing on the opposite side of the slipper spring seems to be a very loose fit on the outdrive. For the moment i've "glued" the bearing on the outdrive with special Loctite adhesive for bearings. Was this a good idea ? Or is this a normal occurence and shouold I ignore it and just get on with the build?

Any help much appreciated

Also, is it possible to cover the front/outer cvd's with heat-shrink tubing or is there insufficient room inside the hub

If you mean that one of the bearings keeps coming loose each time you remove the slipper/spur from the carrier? Had that same thought but I just put a small amount of gear grease on the outdrive and the bearing keept in place.

Not only that the bearing falls off, but the whole shaft seems to be able to wobble about because of the loose fit of the bearing - bit worried about gear mesh / stripping spurs ...

Do not got that problem myself. Strange. Perhaps a silly question, but you have the two shims inside the bearings in place? One each side.
Should not help to fix the wobble though...
