Default awful noise

hi

my X-6 is making an awful noise.

i took the pinion off...nd it seemed to be fine...not really a noise there.

im gessing it might be the motor...a 6.5 nosram brushless.

do they usually make such a racket?

any suggestions how i could maybe quieten it a bit?

thanks evry1,
Andy

Run the motor without the pinion on.
In my B4 it sounded awful as the gears were quite worn so there was a bigger gap so the gears rattled.

Unfortunatlely, it seems like a trait of the Nosram/LRP brushless, so all you can do is put up with it.

You can do all you can with regards to gearbox noise, pinion noise - by checking it all, and making sure the pinion/spur is in good condition etc, then there are the outdrives and dogbones which may be worn and rattle...

But even when all is perfect, it'll still make an aweful noise.

But, on the other hand, Novak motors are much quiter. Mine (6.5R) screams like a 10x2 in my X-6, so you may want to try replacing motors? I know it'll work fine with your Matrix ESC.

Chris

Try some ear plugs, if it is reaching the speed it should, turns in properly, and the gears e.t.c appear to be fine, and not wearing excessively, it ok's.

I think the odd few Nosram/LRP ones are a little noisy on partial throttle, my 4wd 5.5 is a little noisy but it runs fine as my result at Batley showed.

I'd rather have a noisy notor than a quite one Chris

Check you pinions etc though as well to make sure they are ok.
