Help needed with starting out on off road

Hi all. My grandson and I would like to move from electric on road scale 10 touring cars to electric Buggy scale 10 off road, preferably on external track of tarmac/concrete/astro turf/grass etc, my questions are should we look at the B4 as has been sugested at a meeting I have recently been to. is there more chances to race with 2 or 4 wheel drive vehicles, we have most of the electrical and control equipment which includes 10.5 motors would we be able to use them, If we go for the B4 could we use our existing Lipos.
we don't want to find we get 2 wheel drive vehickles and find we are penalised as to how often we can race All help would be appreciated

2wd run all the time,and even if you turn up at a 4wd meeting you just weigh her up to 4wd weight and off you go,4wd aren't allowed to run in a 2wd meeting unless its a fun day/club day,go 2wd for the time being more fun and less cost,

Thanks Matty that confirms what I was advised regarding 2 wheel drive, what about the Qs regarding B4, Lipos and Motors. can you advise

if you go to the brca web site, link you should be able to look at the list of lipos and motors on the current list that are legal for use,buy the way im carl mattys ma boy lol

all your things from the on road cars should fit the B4 also the ansmann madrat is worth a look

I would have thought you'd be better served with an RC10 B4. Whilst the Madrat looks attractive because of the specs for the price, I would say that as you are just starting out, it would be a better idea to go for an extremely popular car. This is where the B4 excels, at least 50% of 2WD drivers have B4s, so you could borrow spares trackside, pretty much any RC website shop has B4 parts in, and set-up info/help is readily available.

There's a lot of advice out there related to the B4. Also, when the time comes, and if funds allow, you have the ability to convert to an X6

That Helped me the most. Don't listen too much to "Battle_axe" Get everyones opinion before you go out and buy - That's what im doing.
