Thought I'd say Hi, getting back into RC cars after many years away, been playing with helis recently but thought it was about time to get a car again.

Went for a ZX5 RTR, unfortunatly looks like the ESC is screwed so that went back to shop today in the post and I'm hoping by the weekend I'll be out and about. No racing planned just mucking about with pals.

Hoping I've made the right choice (sure looks a decent bit of kit), any advice welcome on what I should upgrade first, have a few ideas from reading forum.

Cheers
A

Hi,

Quite a lot of people getting back into it. Where will you be racing?

Speak to dibble34 about the ZX5

No real racing planned but have some decent heathland nearby so will be messing over there.

Not even used the car yet and am already checking out carbon hop-ups, I just cannot resist, haha!!

Buying the ZX5 has even got me thinking about diging my old Boomerang out of the loft and getting her back on the road, for the Missus ofcouse!

If you're looking at option parts etc. I'd seriously look at racing, it's so much fun.

like mikey says racing is great fun, where ever you are there is bound to be a track somewhere near by and loads of helpfull people there with the correct info for their track as well as setups on here from people like myself that ran a zx5. there are a few drivetrain bits on the rtr that do wear quickly but can be upgraded to normal zx5 stuff when they do.

Well, after plenty of chasing seems the new ESC has got lost between Kyosho France and Modelsport so they have sent me out an Asman racing one, a lot bigger but fully waterproof and does the job. Took the car out for the first time last night and wow, very impressed, great handling and some decent power.

Looking forward to hitting the dirt!
