Do you have a voltage protector capacitor plugged into the reciever? If not it would be a good idea to try one, could sort out your problems if they persist. Make sure no negative power wires are near the reciever wires. Check your esc/motor isn't getting too hot aswell.

It's the Sphere I took off you and ran fine on NIMHs...

Speedo and motor felt ok

Nothing plugged into the Spektrum reciever. I do have one spare, but not using it yet in this set-up. I was running it with my 7.1 LRP ESC

Not sure what you mean by thermalling, over heating?

brushless esc's have thermal protection so if it gets to a certain temperature it cuts out to prevent damaging the circuit board, I doubt it will have thermalled though as its only 2wd unless you've got your car geared to high or too low or the punch/brake settings are really high

It was "punching" with the LIPOs, hence I'll re-check the LRP settings. Gearing I think it's ok. The motor wasn't getting warm with NIMHs.

I'll look at it in a bit etc. Got shelves to put up, hence no racing today

I've got a feeling it's an issue with the 2.4 Spectrum reciever, I don't know. The servo goes quick, then very slow, then not at all and then gradually quick again. I've added the Spektrum capacitor, but no change.

Throttle seems better, I'm wondering if the pair on the TX/RX has become stuffed.
