Talking DOH! Lipo On Ni-Mh Setting

Ello All

Before I Get All The Comments Yes I Know Im A Muppet LOL Im Normaly So Cearfull With Them As They Scare Me Shi*less After Seeing All The YouTube Vids Of Them Exploding , Right I Put A Orion 4300 Lipo On Ni-Mh Setting For About 20mins Before I Realised it Swelled Slightly But Not 2 Much And Is Now Reading 9v On The Volt Meeter I Would normaly just through it streight in the bin but due to the credit crunch i wounderd if there was anyone out there that new a little trick to sort it out

Any Help Would be Much Appreciated

Normally once the cells have puffed they'll never deliver the same performance again and they will always be a bit more unstable. First thing is to get some voltage out of the cells, so run them for a while, but not to tightly held down in case they puff more and break the chassis batt strap whatever.

If things calm down you may consider using them on a trail basis but they're probably no good. What you should do then is discharge them down to 3V, then cut open the foil bags being carful not to stick anything metal (like the blade) into the battery itself, and put it straight into a bucket of salt water for a coupl eof days (till it stops fizzing). After that they can be thrown in the regular bin.
