Default Motor question?

I have been looking at setups from the last few years and one thing that seems to stick out is that people have gone from using 8 and 9 turn motors in their 2wd cars to using 12`s, can anyone explain why?

From what i have experienced running TC`s is the lower winds are all revs they dont pull like a 12 or a 11 turn does. I thought this would be ideal for a 2wd, ie less wheelspin or wheelies

Just a question there must be a good logical reason?

You just dont need the speed. Many people including myself find any lower is overkill on most tracks. Plus a higher turn motor usually has more torque which is handy to a degree in offroad

Ive gone down to 11's and 12's purely because the new range of cells have so much power. I ran a single on astro last week and a triple on sunday at tivvy. The single was just stupid, it kept trying to pop wheelies whilst moving at a fairly quick speed

I have always used 11/12s in my xx4, dont see the point in going any lower. Triples and douples if i can buy them.

The new corally motors are the dogs, was running a 12x3 at york and it had many 10s down the straight.

Out right power isn't everything. "Power is nothing, without control" (lrp)
