Got a zx5 and according to the manual the rear suspension arms are part code LA220.
The original wishbones have 2 holes for the shocks. The new ones look like they could be the same length but have 3 holes. Don't have any measuring implements to hand, but it looks to me like the holes aren't in quite the same place either. Is it just an additional mounting hole kyosho have added or do I have the wrong part? Definitely not SP wishbones. Any ideas? |

LA220 should only have 2 holes and is listed as the standard ZX5 arms. The only arms with three holes is the LA243 mid arms (which come with standard ZX5 front arms), and those should be shorter than your stock arms. The SP arms are LA255 which have the SP front arms and an even shorter rear arm (same as the stock RB5 and also only have two shock mount holes) Hope that helps.. ![]()

The RTR car has original lenght wishbones and 3 holes, it caught me out almost (when i bought a 2nd hand ZX5, it had SP hubs and RTR arms with proline axles). It wasn't until i put my new car next to my RB5 that i noticed this as my RB5 has the worlds rear end and proline axles, my ZX5 was a half Inch wider than it. The arms are the original length and the shock holes are in the same place, the difference is in the distance between the shock holes and the hub holes. I have to hand an RB5 kit arm and an LA243 'mid' arm and a kit ZX5 arm and an odd 2 RTR arms and put together i can see the RB5 arm is the shortest, then the 243 arm and then the ZX5 kit and the RTR arms are the same as each other but longer than the rest the holes all line up, the RTR arms have the holes in the same place as the 243 arm. RB5 arm is 2mm shorter than 243 arm and the ZX5 kit and RTR arms are 4mm longer than 243 arm.

Did a little research, Simon is correct.....
![]() LA220 is the correct arm for the RTR and has 3 shock holes (I was looking at a bad picture and couldnt see the third hole before). LA243 is shorter and also has three holes LA255 is about 2mm shorter than the LA243 mid arm and has two shock mount holes (also the same arm as a standard RB5)

Thnks for the replies
![]() Taken some measurements. Looks like the arms are correct. - Will just look a little odd with one side of the car having an extra shock mounting position. |

I would change both arms then......Also make sure that your car doesnt have front arms on the rear. From what I can see in the pics of LA220 arms (remember, there is one front arm and one rear in a package), the front arm looks nearly identical to the rears except that the fronts have two shock holes and the rear has three.
