Default Fell out with GTB

I fell out with my GTB 5.5 the other week and was going to go back to brushed, but I have retrieved it from the bin and installed it again. I think I have found the problem that I was having with it. When I fist put it in my XX4 there was no problem I dont think (I mounted it where the reciever should go as I didnt think that it would fit in the normal position). Then a couple of weeks ago I got it to fit where it should go and since then I have had some major glitching which I didnt realise was happening at York.(so I spat my dummy out with it). The glitching is happening when I put full berrys out of corners but it doesnt happen when it is in my hand I have looked on other forums and people are saying that the motor draws alot of power when at full stick hence the glitching. The best fix is to go to 2.4 ghz which I will as I am saving up for the new Futaba radio but for now is there any thing anybody can think of to sort this out. I am going to try a 27 meg radio to see if that sorts it out. Sorry for the length of the thread.

Spencer,

I've had the very same problem, only I've had the GTB in more than one car, but the symptoms are the same...

Every time you push up to full throttle you get a random glitch...

I've cured it now by getting a 2.4ghz system (Which I wanted anyway).

I've used it several times and it's runing fine now, expencive fix though.

Thanx for the reply Jim that is what I am going to do I am going to get the Futaba T3VCS. I was after a new radio anyway was going to get the new KO but this has made my mind up to get the Futaba as it is 2.4ghz ready. Used to have the old 3VC was a fantastic radio. Now all I have to do is save up £350 to get one it will be in my hands in a couple of months

Have you tried a capacitor plugged into the receiver? Help hold the voltage up when you give it death?

I have read about that on the American forums but I dont know what type or power of capacitor to use. I have one that went on a novak cyclone speed control but dont know if that will be OK.
