As others have said I recommend them, I've had my AMB one cloned and it now lives in my box.

smaller,
nicer looking needing less current ... so less or no missed laps as sometimes happens with AMB PT's cheaper the possibility to have multiple PT's all with the same #, so just one # to remember. the possibility to repair the wires in case of damage but waterproof nevertheless ... The MRT-pt uses the SAME signal as an AMB-transponder ... so it will always function wherever the AMBrc-system is used. Terry just programs AMB-codes that he owns into these PT's. a normal MRT-PT has 10 or 20 different codes programmed. You, the pilot, can choose whatever code you want to use and with the milion different codes used around the world, chance that two drivers have the same number-code is econd to none ... and even if so, you can switch the number with a push on a button. The cloned PT is even easier: you then have 20 numbers AND your personal AMB-number. me lika |

Im still a little confused...
I dont have a PT at the moment but I want one for Nationals etc and to use at our club. I understand that when you buy an AMB PT it comes with a unique number for that bug. If I buy one of these AMB ones does it then come with its own unique number? If I read it right it comes with 20 numbers? how do you choose the number you want to use and how do you know that is the number you have given to the BRCA? What are the disadvantages to running these versis the red ones? ..sorry for the daft questions.. ask me one on batteries if you want... |

Essentially (as i understand it at lease) MRT bought 20 old AMB PT's. They then took their unique numbers, and put them all into one unit. If i'm wrong on this, happy to be corrected - but this is how it was when they first released them.
So, all the MRT units have the same 20 7 digit numbers. Truth is, it's not ideal to have one of these as your only unit for running national Competitions - at least IMHO. I'm not sure where you stand if 2 people try to use/book in on same transponder number. At the very least, the software will get confused. If you already have an AMB PT, then you can have it cloned into one of these. So you then have 2 with the same ID. This is something that i've been planning to get done for quite some time now.
