I am sure this is asked over and over again so I apologise, I am just after to fresh view as to which 2WD to go for.
I am looking for 2wd to predominantly race indoor on carpet/polished floor and cannot decide which one to get. Obviously spares availability it important but I will probably buy a load at the same time as buying the buggy. I always budget for £100 or so worth of spares when buying new car anyway. I can't believe there can be a huge difference between these two, after all they both have tub chassis, servo in front, motor and gearbox at back and battery running down the middle. I prefer the look of the Losi and have had losi kits before but am worried it is a bit old now. Someone said on here that is because Losi have lost interest in 10th off road????? The B4 looks ok but not as nice however I think in general people think this is the better car. I am no serious racer but have been running RC cars (racing and bashing) for 6 years now and want something that I will be seriously able to push and progress with. Any thoughts appreciated |

Before I start I will say I am a bit biased.....I own a CR. I do think it's great, but I also own a Losi XXX4 and think that is poop. Losi tends to understeer a bit I think compared to a B4, but I don't think there is too much in it. In the hands of a good driver, and well set up I think each will do as well as each other. I would base my choice on spares availability locally to you personally. Oh and looks, lets be honest, you wouldn't go out with one girl if her sister looked much fitter

Not sure where you're going with that reply Lloyd! Are you saying you get turned on by your CR? Oh dear, Remind me to pit a bit further away from you this week mate! And if I catch you eyeing up my CR there'll be trouble I tell ya!
![]() Anyway, back to the thread, for what it's worth I have to say that I think the XXX-CR is a fantastic piece of kit. Yes, the original XXX was launched a fair few years ago now, but in CR form the XXX can still show the B4 a clean pair of rear wheels on any surface. I race against B4s, X6s and even Cat SXs and regularly beat these guys with my CR, so there can't be too much wrong with it. If you're a beginner (sorry, not sure from what you say) then I suggest you simply get something that the other guys at your club race so that you can go to them for help, advice & spares if you don't have the part you need. If you know what you're doing, then get a CR and help us guys redress the balance against all of those B4s and X6s out there! ![]()

Firstly thank you for your replies. I am glad to hear the lack of losi interest is rubbish as that is the car I am swaying towards because......you guessed it looks!
Spares back up doesn't seem to be a problem for either having looked into it. The only think that worries me about the B4 is that I won't be able to resist the X Factory conversion in the future!!! On that subject, is this an upgrade for top flight drivers only who will notice a difference or could little 'ole me benefit from this also. Thanks again |

the xfactory conversion is like a totally new car to the B4 it handles very differently and well worth it for the majority of drivers as many will say it's easier to drive and more consistant than the b4 or xxxcr and still really fast which unexpierienced drivers benefit from alot as do top end drivers that like to go at stupid speeds round the whole of the track without making so many mistakes, I've got both B4 and X6 now struggling which one i want to drive this year as the B4 is really quick and feels more rewarding and quicker if you don't make any mistakes but harder to drive and the X6 is easier to drive and put in consistant runs but is a fraction slower i think.
losi in 1/10th have almost died out in my opinion, well they have in my area, I don't know anyone who runs xxxcr at my local club anymore and don't even see them much at regionals etc those who did now own B4's or X6's ![]()

Losi hasnt lost intrest in 1/10th off road. I believe they have been consentrating on getting in to 8th off road with a total new area. Ive heard rumours there is a new losi on the way. As for b4 cr x6 argument. The way i see it is B4 quickest over a lap but not that easy to drive consistantly, X6 not quite over a single lap as a b4 but more consistant, Cr is about the same over one lap as a x6 but more consistant. I cant get my cr to crash no matter how hard i try.
