Default Vintage Traxxas

Afternoon chaps.

I'm after a TRX1 and a TRX3 body. Before you think it I know Traxxas is a strange choice for vintage stuff but its what I had when i was a kid and I think thats how we all started picking up vintage stuff... Anyway..

I've had no luck is finding bodies for these cars in old models shops or on the internet so my only other option if to find a shell that would fit the chassis even if its not the exact one. These cars are going to be raced not stuck on a shelf so a nice shell to complement them would be great.

The TRX 3 isn't so much of a problem because I could use a Traxxas Bandit shell even though it looks simply terrible it would do the job.

The TRX 1 on the other hand is a totally different kettle of fish, I can't use a Bandit shell as the front of the chassis is too wide.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Mike

Default Kamtec

Have a word with Keith at www.Kamtec.co.uk and see if he can make a mold from that shell. OK so the shell you send may be ruined but you wont regret it. The price is good as well.

If he can it will take time so patience is required but he is the best there is so worth waiting for. The shell will be of a better design as it will be stronger. Hope this helps.

You might be surprised how strong the interest is in vintage Traxxas especially the TRX1. If you have a pop over here:-

you may find someone with some answers and if not you will find some very interesting Traxxas threads

Tres bien!

There is some good stuff in that ebay shop although the body isn't the original style, not sure where that one is from? I always forget about the european ebays when trying to find stuff, I'll have to brush up on my o level French and German..

This is the shell I'm looking for:

I have a shell but its a wreck so maybe will look at creating a mold that can be used to form a new one. What material is best for making the mold? Wood carving or something like that?

I'll take some pictures tonight and post them up, I know we all like to see pics of these things. Makes a post more interesting!

Cheers

Mike
