Default Nats

HI EVERYBODY!

A quick question.

being F5, what are the chances of actually getting to race in the nationals this year???

Do you stand more chance if you pre book to do the whole series??

I think you get more chance yes.. vicky did them all last year and got into 3 I think right away - had to wait on the other three but got an entry before we actually even set off there so its not so bad..

Having said that - since I started racing in 2002 things seem to have become more popular every year, and I expect the nats will be heavily over subscribed.

If you dont get into the ones you want to, then theres always the north east regionals - always good for a laugh.

Im crossing pretty much everything I possibly can in the hope i get in too.

Im also an F5 and really want to do all the Nats. Im just really annoyed i didnt get back into racing until the second half of the outdoor season last year so didnt get enough points from the 2 events i did to raise my formula!

D'oh!!

Do you generally know quite early on if you get put in?
Its just that I don't want to be making the treck to, say, tiverton only to find out I cant race. It's an expensive weekend if you don't get to race.

I think that the regionals will be a better idea myself. I take it your performance in the regionals effects your 'F' rating?

You can call and get updated on your current position in the reserves list - as people drop out you can get an email or call to say you are in.
Can be weeks or a couple of days before the race.

you can gain anything up to F2 through regionals

you normally know quite well in advance of meetings if you got in, if you are on the reserve list for a national they try to notify you if you got in as early as possible

they have penalties in place for drivers that don't go to a meeting they have booked in for, this normally allows the reserves to bump up before the events as people tend to cancel if they can't make it

Last year i was a F5 and booked in for three nationals, was 18th on the reserve list i think for telford and still got in and also at batley.

I got a phone call the week before the meeting asking if i wanted to race as people had dropped out.
