Default Software Driver for Mini DV camcorder

I have an old Samsung VP-D303D Mini DV camcorder and a number of tapes from Holidays long gone which I would like to retrieve.
I have lost the "install" disk for the device driver and software.
The only drivers available on the Samsung website appear to be for Windows XP or previous.
Does anyone know where I can obtain a Vista compatible driver for this camera?

I should add that all the searches I have done seem to return the same driver which is dated 2004.

Would have thought "no driver needed" was correct, xp and vista, plug in a cable - USB or Firewire (has other names) whatever fits, switch camera on, windows should "see" it.

You may need software to pull the file off the camera & edit, but Windows Movie Maker should be a good start, there is a version for xp and vista.

Most XP software will work on Vista.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I connect the camera via a USB cable (thats all i have- came with the camera) and when I switch the camera on, Windows tries to locate a device driver, and fails.
It goes throught the "found new hardware" scenario and fails with a compatability issue and directs me to look at the manufacturers site.
Any further advice, apart from throwing the camera in the bin?

If it's a mini dv cam, u will need a firewire cable the usb is only for still photo's. The firewire is for motion pictures. If u have the firewire cable i dont think u need the driver, if u do u probably find it at www.samsung.com
