Ive been charging my mimh cells , and recently when ive been charging the cells all of a sudden the charger will go off then on an then off , this will continue until you unplug it.
Its hampering my charging so its an issue. Should i contact where i purchased it from or can anyone shine a light on the problem? ![]() |

Do you mean the amps drop to zero then back to normal?

is this on mains or 12volts?
if mains are you powering anything else off the 12volts? what goes off the charge or the whole unit powers down? ive used mine for months and its never done this even taking its full 5 amps???? matty good look with your overpriced shoe box!!

The unit gets hot , but this surely shouldnt happen , should it? I use the mains supply at the club . At first i thought it was a bad connection from the mains , but since i moved the unit it still appears to happen. |

This certainly doesn't sound right. Getting hot is expected, but it should never keep switching on and off. What voltage of pack are you charging (6 cells I assume)? It seems to be acting like you're overstressing the internal PSU, but it should limit charge current before that happens...so perhaps you have a defective unit.
If it's only started happening recently, then I'd imagine something has failed inside the charger. Might be warranty time. ![]() |

You just have to have a dig Not over priced, you pay for what you get in this world, pay peanuts you get !!!! I have been using gfx35 for years and it has never failed, coughed or spluttered nothing, it just does what is stated on the box. Now I only buy quality equipment and having read up on the bc6 I thought that this charger would be great as I would now need a lipo charger. Having never used the charger before or charged lipos before, I charged my mimh's on the charger to get used to the menus ect. Just over half charge at 5amps the charger starts beeping and switching it self off and on repeatedly. Not a good start !!! have I set-up the unit wrong, so checked settings nothing wrong so tried again. Same thing happened !!! this did not fill me with much confidence when I needed to charge my lipos !!!! the charger has always been powered with the mains input and nothing connected to the 12v input. Now the charger works fine when I only half charge cells/lipo ie finish race and charge. But when I need to fully charge a pack of cells/lipo the charger still over heats and off & on repeatedly. SO I put a 12v fan on the 12v input knowing its 12v live when its mains powered to blow cool air across the charger and voila the charger will now fully charge a pack of cells/lipo. So mark when I say the charger is cheap crap, the proof is in the pudding my friend.... it does not do what is stated on the BOX !!!!! I even think that on a hot day with charger in a tent that it would not even half charge or peak a pack of cells/lipo without overheating |

DaveG28 try yours, discharge your lipo to 6v and then try charging. see if yours does the samething at 5amps.
It may just be mine, but certainly does not fill me with confidence seeing as we have to be super safe when charging lipo's. ps there is no way mine would cycle my 4900 trakpower lipo's without using a fan!!! ![]() |
