![]() ![]() I have come across some really stubborn chassis screws that doen seem to want to come out... So tighht in fact that they broke the tip off my hudy 1/16th allen driver.!! ![]() What do people find is the best way to remove these screws? I dont know if they have been threadlocked in there, or are just really really tight. The onew I am struggling with are mostly connected to blue alloy parts.... cheers in advance guys... ![]()

That will be threadlock I imagine. Looks like it's time to dremel a flat into the screw head for a screwdriver. Ideally you want to get some heat into the scre to break the threadlock, I'm wondering if a soldering iron onto the screw head? You have to let the scre cool down again though as expanded steel screw will be even harder to extract.
If the chassis is toast anyway could you dremel the parts out/off around the head so you could get some mole grips on it?

The chassis isnt completely goosed to be honest. So If I can, I'd like to try and keep it as a spare.

As suggested, try heating the screw up a little bit with a soldering iron. It's worked for me in the past with excellent results every time.

theres only one real good way of doing it like Dan said, careful dremmel cut to create a slot for a screw driver,no need to do any damage to the chassis

thumbs up for the soldering iron too, had the same problem with my BJ4 cause of all the aluminium and I was abit enthusiastic with thread lock
