Heya- dest 210 comes with this http://arrma-rc.de/part/AR390133 , I was thinking to upgrade it to http://www.arrma-rc.com/part/AR390136 but problem is that the metal gear is slightly bigger than the original so it doesn't fit in http://www.team-durango.com/part-inf...artNo=TD320162 .. Can anyone give an idea how I can use this new servo or do I just have to use the old one?
Thanks in advance

The metal gear?
You mean the spline. Nope, both the same size (25 tooth, it even says so on the web page) you may need to give the servo horn a bit of a wiggle as they are a very snug fit. |

Yes the tooth count is same but metal gear is tiny bit bigger.. no amount of wiggle helps, trust me..
Just wondering if there is way to install new servo without the servo saver |

It's either faulty (or the old servo is) or you aren't pushing hard enough.
You got another 25t servo around to try (other than the one you took out)? You could just get a normal servo horn with no saver, but i'm pretty sure you'll toast your servo fairly quickly. And it'll probably be exactly the same size as your current horn. And FWIW, i chop and change servo horns and servos all the time, no issues. Except for one which had 26t. Everything else has 25t |

Sweet- I made it fit
I took your advice and pushed harder, got it half way in and then used the screw to make it go all the way haha.. Thanks for advice! Another quick question before I try installing it on the car - should I have centered the servo somehow in relation to how servo saver connection to car is? Or can I adjust that later? Always fit the servo horn with the servo powered up and trims at 0 on your transmitter.
You can do this once its in the truck if your hex driver is long enough to reach through the shock tower. Also best to use an alloy servo horn if you can as the plastic ones can be prone to stripping out if you hit something. Alloy servo horns for the TLR 22 series work well although the ballstud can be a tight fit first time you screw it in.
