Default fitting lipo on rb5

hi hi,

any tip of fitting in lipo on RB5 ?

i got this yeah racing 4000mAhr lipo that I have problem fitting in.

There is 2 problems.

First, it is the little 2 protruding small block at the rear. This is to support the 2 screws that hold the t-block. I dunno if it make sense to file it off.
But I concern over the lack of support for the screw then.

Second is I am using GTB. Which is fairly big and the PCB plate is 0.5mm into the battery holding area.

Any advise ? many thanks.hi hi,

If you need to, dremel it, don't take off any more material than you need to.

Turn the GTB 90 degree's.

I had my GTB 90deg in RB5 as i didn't like the pcb protruding. Had to dremel a fair bit of the chassis to make it fit though... eventually I changed to an LRP sphere for reason of fit. (I think the GTB is a superior speedo just doesn't RB5 well at all).

It maybe doesn't help too much now as you have the Lipo, but for others, the Orion 3800 30C, that is shaped is a really good fit, room for weight under the battery and just flip the battery strap over.

Have you guy used or tried the New Orion KO speedo, fit's really well too and early reports are excellent.

Cheers
Karl

i have dremmeld my lugs and not lost strenth but wasnt happy doing it and i made sure that the srews were glued in to aid it a little in the strenth department. some lipos fit without an issue as karl has said. as for speedo turn it 90 degrees so the pcb is towards the rear of the car then it sould fit without issue. i have currently got a nosram istc in mine with the fan mounted on the chassis to blow air across the heat sink but will be getting a tekin in there asap as it is sooooo much smaller and smoother to drive

Hi Chris, check out the Orion home page, you can see it there, or it's pictured under the NEW RB5 SP link from Sharpy.

Many thanks

Found it, the Vortex Race and Experience both look very neat items.
