Iphone jailbreak

So....Ive just jailbroken my mates iphone, tethered it to my laptop so i can surf via it and am getting 3mb download rate (300k/s) Im amazed by this and instead of buying mobile broadband now iam going down the iphone route.

but won;t you have to pay a data charge? i didn't think tethered data was included in the bundles, only handset data?

Yeah but how would they know? It's all on the 3G connection
O2 is unlimited (up to about 200 odd mb)

pro4nut used to work for O2, and i had a plan to do the same with unlimited mobile phone internet instead of getting a dongle. But he said you will be charged. they can tell the difference in the data somehow.
If he comes on he can hopefully explain. And the data cost is astronimical too! so be careful

Not my phone lol. Be interested to know how as it runs through the phone, not direct on the laptop.

yeah, i can't remember exactly. i think it's the fact that the data is requested in PC format as opposed to mobile format or something along those lines. basically they can tell that the data is being used as a modem not for use on the phone.

some networks or bundles allow you to tether inclusive, but others don't so you just have to be careful.
