Default Recommended LiPo charger

I have good electronics but a crap charger, which doesn't seem to charge my packs to a full 8.4v. Does anyone have an recommendations on good chargers out there? I like Orion gear so could be temped on one from that range.

Cheers
Simon

Silly question but on balance charge is it that one cell is 4.19v while the other is 4.20v?

Anyway it looks like a cracking charger!!!

I don't care about price. I sometimes will charge 10 packs in 1 race meeting if I decide to race both 2wd and 4wd - this would be the most number of charges. Most of the time I will charge about 5 times/packs per meeting. I race once a month if I am lucky.

Cheers

I use one of these which hit 8.39v or 8.4v on the brca volt meter at the f3,4,5's every time.

you can also buy a power

if you want to run it off the mains.

I run mine straight off 12v and it seems very efficient on power consumption

Hi,

Thanks but I think I will avoid Hobbyking electronics as it tends to be cheap low quality. I already have a hobbyking charger hence the problem. All my other electronics is high-end Orion gear which I am really happy with. I bought my charger before I thought I would get into racing when I bought a Losi mini 8ight, for bashing mostly.

elangers seem to be pretty good: http://www.elangears.com/

Hi,

Not a silly question at all. In balance mode the charger reports 4.2v on each cell, but running a volt meter over the pack reads around 8.33v - 8.34v.

Intresting... I assume the volt meter is connected while pack is still charging. I'm going to check mine. I might be looking for a new changer too!
