Default losi slipper on x6

Hi all,

Is it worth it? And if so, what parts are needed?

I find the losi slipper easier to adjust and more consistant through 5 minutes, the losi setup seems more adjustable, I've always found the associated slipper either on or off.

You'll need losi xxx spur, slipper pads and losi xxx spring and plastic parts, I use the ones off an old XX.

You could keep the associated spur and slipper pads and just change the spring and plastic fittings, but I find the consistancy comes from the losi spur/slipper pads.

In my opinion it's MUCH better, but not everyone agrees. You need spur, pads, plates, all very easy, the complication is you need the hydra slipper spring (which is shorter than a XXX one) and 2 * spring locator washers. The only way I know of getting these is buying two of the Losi 3124 "Friction slipper cup, spring, spacer and washer set (XXX)" If you have one of the plastic locator washers you only need that set for the other washer and the shorter spring.

Spring you want is the silver one on the left, and the locator washer the small black plastic on on the right.

I use the B4 plates, they are almost the same as the losi ones. Losi plates are a mm or 2 bigger in diameter, B4 ones work fine but you can just see the edge of the losi slipper pads.

I use the big plastic piece in the pic you show, just need to drill out the centre slightly so it doesn't hit the shoulder on the slipper plate. This plastic part disperses the pressure further out on the slipper plate making it work even better IMHO

Craig, could you please post some pics of the assembly?

A little step-by-step guide with pics and part #?

You could post a step by step but to be fari it is soooo simple.

Place slipper plate on shaft (Losi or AE), then slipper pad (Losi), Spur gear, second slipper pad, second slipper plate, so far that is all obviuos and simple.

Then the larger spacer from Losi A3135 (this is from the XXXNT) which is spot on, the larger spacer spreads the load over the slipper plate. then the short slipper spring (only one in A3135), then the remaining plastic spacer/bush, followed by your 4/40 nut. Easy!!!

No cutting, no reaming, all fits straight on.......
