Default New Carpet for September 2015

As Title.

Yes we are having a new carpet for September

The old carpet will not be available, as we wish to give it the school in the hope that they use that, instead of our race carpet.

will you be stopping spikes or pins and using the old carpet for the off road weekends?

As Dave mentioned, we're intending to give the school the old carpet to use, so that our race carpet doesn't get covered in cr4p. We haven't discussed the rules for the new indoor season with the new carpet yet, but I expect this will be part of the conversation. What is clear is that we currently have a strong off-road following on Friday nights and also through the Saturday winter indoor series, and we will want to ensure that we don't affect that class, whilst also encouraging stronger numbers in the various on-road classes.

So, the short answer is "not decided yet".

no worries,
I just asked as its only the carpet keeping the big boys running at your club, but like you say off road is very strong so be silly to upset them and turn them away,

Yep, exactly Mark. It's really clear that the on-road classes (flat pan and touring) have declined since Sept last year, largely due to the condition of the carpet, both in terms of wear and also the level of general dirt that has accumulated on it over time.

Great news!!! the school is no longer going to be using our carpet for any school events or parents evenings..

so hopefully in the next couple of weeks the grip should start coming back..
