Default E bay help with my FZR 600?

hi guys, you may be able to help me, iv sold my spare old track day hack FZR 600, a fella from Ireland has bought it, he has sent the £100 deposit via postal order and wants to send the money over to my local post office via western union? never heard of them?

So my Q's are- How long does it take to get the cash from a postal order?

He is sending a courier next tue 25th to pick the bike up, I thought id ask as I dont want to be mugged off!

on the postal order you might be able to get the money right away or it could take up to 7 days

do not let the bike go till you got the cash in your hand. Tell him he may send the courior to collect the bike when the money is actually cleared into your account. Ask him why he cant use paypal . It sounds too dodgy. ok the £100 postal order is cash straight away making you trust him but you might kiss goodbye to the balance if he cancels the order as it takes a few days to clear. Its only my advice but its your choice. Also check his feedback is he new to ebay. he could be using new accounts to rip people off Ask the post office how long does it take to clear, the courior may just be a few of his mates in a van so you got no company to go after if it goes belly up. can you put the ebay item number here for us to check him out kaniff**** ??????

if the postal order is crossed as they say (has a line going throught the price then it must go to a bank like a cheue and be cleared

do not accept paypal if the person is coming to collect from you,you will have no proof of them receiving the goods from you and they could claim their money back from paypal.

as said above, get the cash in your pocket before letting the bike go.

Hi - postal orders uncrossed can be cashed immediately at the post office. crossed postal orders are treated as a cheque and will take aprox 3-5 days to clear in the bank & are treated as a cheque.
i have had people asking to transfer moneies via western union when selling items before - usually a motor vehicle, they will tell you they are coming to collect the item on a certain date and then ask you for your bank details. don't think money can be transfered in to the post office for individuals. be carefull this is not a very convincing scammer - he may be genuine but in my case they never were!
