Default Soldering

Advice needed please folks, I'm trying to soldering my connections on my shiny new esc, now my trouble is I've got a 30watt soldering iron but I can't seem to get the solder to stick to the esc connections, if I do get a wire attached it breaks off with the slightest pull. Any info in wattage or solder please?

Stu

You will need at least a 50W iron, and need to tin (coat) the ESC terminals with solder and the same with the wire before trying to solder together.

And get some flux on there, cleans up the surface nicely.

and use this solder ..http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SILVERLINE...item43c200a114
