Afternoon
I do not seem able to get solder to stick to carisma 4500 motor wire. I have soldered quite a bit and never had this problem. The solder will not bond? Tried everything. Anyone got any ideas. Thanks. James |

Try some different wire sometimes cheaper stuff does not like solder unless lead based

I am literally trying to solder the carisma direct to the esc. Solder sticks fine to esc and the battery wires I have put deans on etc etc but the carisma motor wire just will not stick. Even when in through the esc holes it forms a nice round solder joint but the motor wires will just pull straight out. No bond at all? As I say very strange? Almost as if the motor wires are corroded or something. I wish I had never tried to make it look neat and left the original connectors. Is it possible to open up motor and attach new leads? James |

Hi
its because the motor wires are covered in a type of insulating lacquer that is applied to stop the wires shorting in the can windings, you need to scrape back the wire with a hobby knife or small file (or dremel)to remove it this is quite a common problem, and can cause cogging if you don't get a good connection
