nitro newbi questions

i've been racing and bashing electrics for 25 years but i just got my first nitro. its a xt2. i also have a all start, starter box. my main problem is that my engine appears to run the opposite way to the way the starter box wheel turns. do all engines run the same way? could the motors in the starter box have been reversed at the factory? anyone got any ideas, as i hate using the pull start

if you look from the front of the car at the engine,the clutch turns anti clockwise.

yes its possible that the starter box is wired wrong.

yep my starter box is running backwards. thanks for that. i will have to re wire it

if your going to run with the starter box then i suggest you get a normal backplate for the engine,sooner or later the engine will start drawing air thru the backplate bushing for the pullstarter as it wears the bronze bushing(the pullstarter shaft still spins in the backplate as its directly driven by the conrod pin)

ok i've now got the starter going the right way. the problem i have now is that all the slots for the locating pegs are covered by the chassis, so its hard for me to get the car in the right place every time
