Finding a stack of old RCMC magazines from the 80's woke me back up to a long lost hobby and a much loved interest.
So due in no small part to your great website Jimmy, a ZX5 build was the only way to scratch my itch ! Im struggling to come up with a good body paint scheme though, I would love a replica of the box art but without an airbrush or the required skill its a no go. Anbody any ideas for a good can based paint scheme ? Cheers. ![]() |

I'm no expert on bodyshell painting - what I would say though is that if all you have are cans, a single colour or something very simple (racing stripes of some sort) can look really nice on the ZX-5, it's such an elegant, slim body. I run all my cars in single colour yellow and it actually looks more individual than the multi-colour cars that most people have now.
And I would also get some velcro for the shell and not bother cutting the holes for the body posts. They are a right pain to use. Also cut the shell a few mm below the bottom cut line to start with because there is not much room for the wiring and some larger electronics. |

Red an yellow fit the Lazer very well.
Dark colors dont llok as good as bright ones.

You could always go with the classic one color, "factory" white.
