Sounds like done reverse polarisation!

Looks like you've reversed the neg and pos wires around

You might have fried you esc too which can void warranty

What esc is it and does it still work?

Red face Burnt out

Hi
It's a hobby 120 amp and 5.5 motor in a losi 22 ltr
I checked the + and - when plugged into the lipos and they were right.
My son plugged the same leads in about a week ago and said he could see a bit of smoke so he unplugged them. I think he plugged them in the wrong way round, and it has done something at the time. It's ran ok once since then till tonight and puff.
Could he have damaged the esc ?
Regards
Craig

Could be a short in the esc causing it

I'd double check everything and try to connect it up again

I think that you will find something is fried.

I would take a look at the caps first and see if there is any signs of burning on them.

Also take the speedo out car and fully look at it for signs of burning or possible shorts.

Have you tried unplugging the motor then plugging the batterys in ?

If you have everything wired right and the battery plugged in the right way round then its got to be the speedo thats gone.
