Wheels and tyres for an Optima?

What wheels/tyres should I get to so I can run my Optima without wearing out the vintage rubber I have?

I know that Tamiya DF02 & DF03 wheels fit straight on so you can run modern rubber, and I think that the Lazer ZX5 wheels fit too, but not sure.

Lazer ZX5 wheels do indeed fit, I ran them at the vintage series for the 1 meeting I attended last year.

I know this is taking the mickey but then considering you have ripped it out of me in the past, but these wheels are still the same part numbers from the Lazer ZXR (the wide ones arent) era. Great and still the best wheels, as my old early 90 wheels are still being used and still look half decent.

If you are talking about the very first Optima and would like to make it look original, there is few choice (1.7" rims). I figured out that Tamiya Hornet tires (re-re) are the same size and fit with a little cutting.

If you are planning to run it with modern rubber, all of the above advice is correct!

I'm planning to run modern rubber as I have some fairly decent tyres for show (not the originals, Optima Pro stylee). They are part work, but still have enough tread to look ok.
I think the Optima looks better with the larger Pro wheels and tyres anyway.
