Default Hobbyking X Car 120a Esc With Losi 6.5t S Motor Issues

I Have recently got the hobbyking x car sensored esc (120a) and an losi xcerliron s 6.5t motor

the esc is a copy of the hobbywing xerun 2.1 and im using the hobbywing firmwares

I connected the new esc and connected the motor correctly and done all the calab with the tranny, it has boost and timing on the esc. If I run thee car in my hand and full throttle it gives full power....and if I run it on the ground while under load and give full throttle it doesnt give full power, ive tried a few firmwares and the only one that works is the "no timing" one, could it be the motor? The esc is fine

could timing and boost be causing the motor to no operate correctly or could then motor just not handle the timing thst the esc is giving out...I come to that conclusion cause its runs perfect in blinky mode

Any help would be great...thanks

Sounds like a sensor issue either lead or board

It is an odd 1 that because I think it would also have issues in blinky if there was issues with the sensor.

I think what I'd do is set no timing/boost in normal mode and see how it runs (ie not blinky mode)

Then add timing in small incrememnts. If it doesnt work right with the first increment then something is clearly wrong. It may be that your just giving it too much timing/boost.

On my tekin system, I could add timing no problem, but If I added turbo (which I havnt, but is similar to how I think boost works on yours) the motor definately wouldn't like it.

Also check where the endbell timing is set. Wind that back a bit too if its up high.

Hope this helps. I'm just using trial and error here, I have no experience with this esc/motor combo

Ok thanks ill have a look into that

Ive tried increasing the timing bit by bit but still the same

Blink mode it works flawlessley and is very smooth, can also get full power

I forgot to mention that if I give it full throttle after it does not give full power, the motor seems to slow down very slowly (but still spinning fast when holding in my hand)

Why?
Sensor lead disconnected, it runs in sensor less,

blinky has no timing advance,,, so faultysensor lead won't show up off load.. When he revs it it revs and backs off, sign of it not seeing sensor and dropping into sensor less.
Motor timing will not effect speedo
Only reason I'm saying it is had same issues with same speedo

aha didnt realise that speedo can run sensorless

thought they just run with no boost in sensorless mode too though.

Its what my tekin does.

Ive tried 3 different sensor cables with all the same results

The v3.0 blinky firmware is fine and very smooth

the old v.1 something firmwares are also fine and works with timing (AMTS I think)

The v3.0 mod and stock firmwares are causing the problems

a few people said it maybe the motor as it cant handle boost and turbo

Getting a speed passion v3 motor on sunday so ill try that

mine was a dodgy lead

have you installed the stock speedo setting ie hobbyking?
could be a programe issue with the speedo.
next question was does another motor do it
