Default Help choosing new esc for 2.5t motor....

Hi all,
I know it sounds ridiculous but I'd like a speed controller to run reliably with a really low turn motor for 1:10 on road outdoors on 2s battery...

Currently I run a speed passion reventon pro with 5.5t motor with boost and it's brilliantly quick but the nitro pan cars are still getting away on the straight and I can only run a few mins before it gets too hot!

Can anyone recommend anything?

I see the tekin rs pro apparently has no motor limit - is this true??

Want something that isn't going to break so happy to pay more for quality but don't want to waste any!

thanks in advance

You're the second person asking this in the last few months, hyperspeed must be popular

The tekin and the KO BMC will run 2.5t (according to their specs)

Many thanks for this

I searched and read that post already - "how many pieces would you like yourgearox in sir?" LOLOL!

Apparently the KO doesn't run boost so that leaves the tekin.. I've been looking at the Orion R10 - seen some good reviews on rctech forum...

£125 seems a good price too esp compared to tekin

Any comments??

Will try and get some sort of combo..

Thanks

I have to ask why you'd need boost with a 2.5? You're at the limit of the speedo in terms of motor, none of the speedos claim that you can add boost when running 2.5 so I'd be careful.

I'd ask in the Tekin thread here and see what Randy comes back with.

P.S. Post up a video when you do try it, I'd love to see how it compares with nitro

The Tekin might run it for a minute or so, but no chance of any longer.

I'd say your only chance is maybe a speedo designed for 1/8 scale, I'd doubt any of the 1/10 speedos would run a 2.5 for any length of time.

Thanks for that
decided against the tekin and eneded up going for an orion r10 with 4.5t motor and program card...

Reasons were that 160a continuous seem good and have read some good reports on rctech...

Will try thr 4.5 without boost first and low gearing and see what it's like..
Something tells me it will be 'quite' quick

Maybe will go for 3.5 at some point but don't want the esc to become unreliable... wonder how the car will hold up?!

That's what i was wondering about running a 2.5 on all the 1:10 speedos - thanks for clearing that up

My reasons are the same as why I have a track car with 513bhp -i suppose i'm a bit mad!!

Seriously though, watching the speed of boosted 5.5t 1:10 is awesome - looks insane!

Would also like to get a vid... Maybe she would do it... probably not though!

Sorry, but I don't think running 2.5T on a 1/10 is equal to a track car with 513bhp.

I think it is more of a 1500 bhp which you will run out of gas in 3mins, assuming your engine wouldn't blow up after the run.

LOL.
