looking at buying a b max 2 i see you get different axles to go in the front so u can fit ae wheels but what fits the rear are they pin or hex

they are pins so AE, proline and Schumacher wheels will fit

I'm running dex210 front rims as the staggers fit better when I narrow the rims. They are a tighter fit too compared to the stock wheels which need shimming to take out the end float

If you want to use hex wheels, put some B-Max 4 wheel spacers BM-011S instead of the thick wheel spacers on the axle, insert the pin and use some B4 hex adapters. I'm using the Pro-Line ones, and all AE/Kyosho hex wheels fit.
