Default One off BIG indoor meeting.

I am thinking of doing a one off indoor meeting. I will get the big names there and the track will be a big one. I was thinking maybe like a Indoor GP and maybe a full weekend racing? If I get enough interest then I will make it happen.

One off BIG indoor meeting

Where & When?

If it doesn't clash with work, other RC commitments then I'd look to be entering

Hi Woody, we are only rank amaturs from the Southport track, if you are short of names - which I dont expect you will have, please add mine + 2 others.
We would be driving 2WD buggies, any rules on motors and batteries?

Shame to hear you want to keep it small and local, even if it's a really good idea to get people into the sport.
Even if it's good for promoting the sport, I really hate running races so exposed to the public. I don't like the idea of leaving my stuff on the table and racing/marshalling while Joe Public sifts through my stuff...
One of the major races here in Germany that is more in the public eye is at the Dortmund model trade fair. But there racers and passers-by are kept nicely separate and there is a booth where people can inform themselves.

I still think an electric class or day at Neo-Buggy would be a huge attraction to international racers and would give my back teeth for an opportunity to run there!

Sounds like 2 things happening here. Firstly - Woody and his 'get more members in the Manchester area' event & Secondly - some fancy one-off national event.

BTW Woody - at Lawford Buggy Club we run an event at a local car show once a year with the aim to helping promote the sport. Always seems to go down quite well.

Good idea! I will have to look hard to find something like that in Manchester. Thanks. And yes I was thinking of the best of both worlds. Big event in a busy area.

I do agree with none racers in the pits and yes I would have it cornered off.
