I think there is a brass version,
Cant remember who makes it! However I thought the same as you, After bending one in a front on smash. But I changed it and was careful not to overtighten the screws, and so far it has not got bent since! |

Kev Lee told me they were soft as well, but neither my RB5 or RB6 have bent.
I must just be lucky when I crash. |

There is an upgrade front alloy hinge pin brace detailed in the instruction manual and made by Kyosho already. Allegedly much stronger.
( assume thats what you`re all talking about and not the UM721 front suspension mount block ) The upgrade part number is UMW519GM - machined alloy SP version The standard brace is part number UM720 - pressed alloy Similar SP upgrade available for the motor plate too which i used from new. Looks and feels a lot better quality. |

It's UM720 I think you are referring to. The original seems to be made from a softer alloy, but the new one is the same as all the previous versions for the RB5 and just doesn't bend.
UM720b is the new one and it is identical in shape to the original. I've been running it a few weeks now and despite some hefty head-ons it's still straight ![]() http://insidelineracing.co.uk/new-pr...&view=category Unless you were referring to the plastic suspension mount block? Kev |

Sorry bud, didnt wish to tell you incorrect info so i stand corrected. I got the information from the back of my RB6 manual as per the info about the SP RB5 motor plate. Its certainly correct because its fitted to my car. Very misleading ![]() 720B it is then, never heard of that one ! ![]() |
