Default Problems with Royal Mail

Bought some items off MB models for this weekend when I got home found that the items had been thrown on my driveway next to the house (meant to be special delivery - signed for) however as I reverse the car on to the driveway you can guess what happened ***************

Spoke to Royal Mail who said that the sender has to make a claim not me

Spoke to MB models who said nothing ever happens and that i should fill out a P58 form but haven't got the info needed, or any proof of delivery

Just want to see if anyone else have had any issues with anyone else

System fine when things work well but not so good when things happen

any advice

Did the item actually get sent by special delivery? and was suppose to be sent that way in the first place?
If so, obviously the postman should have got someone to sign for it and that would have been your proof of delivery otherwise i'd have thought the fact you've received it (even if damaged) should be proof enough..

At the end of the day the blame is 100% with royal mail as soon as it's out of MB's hands - they never left in on your drive....

I'm sure they'll give you any info you need to claim it back off royal mail.

If you have not signed for a SD then you have not received it.

MB can claim this as lost on insurance but thats after like 2 weeks.

Exactly same as me, worst case thus far - £500+ item (non RC).

It sounds very much that it is Royal Mail at fault here but surely it is for MB to deal with them not you? They purchased the delivery service from RM and therefore the contract is between RM and MB. MB have always been top guys when I have dealt with them so I’d be amazed if they did not sort it out for you.

RM parcel delivery in my area does seem to have got worse over last 2-3 months. They always used to just stick a card through the door if there was no one to take delivery which was fine as I would just pick up from PO. I recently found a parcel in my back garden shed (which I rarely go into during the winter) several weeks after complaining to the sender that I have not received it – no card or note to tell me it was there. They have also taken to putting parcels inside my refuse bin, again with no card through door so realistic chance I could have put it out for rubbish collection. Last week I found a parcel just dumped on top of a bag of clothes we had put out for a charity collection by my front door.

Default senders resposibility?

its the sender that has to claim if item is not deleivered. its the buyer if its delivered damaged, sadly. Thats how i understand it.
Royal mail are TERRIBLE about refunds, compensation etc. They try everything to tell you to get stuffed rather than admit fault and pay out.

Its really a bad way to be but the post office are truly rubbish.

I have had loads go missing even when sent recorded etc.

Wow never realized the royal mail could be that bad, where i live they seem to be really good either its at the depot or dropped off next door. Makes me feel bad how i complain that i have to go all the way into town to collect something.

but some other company's i have found can be really bad, stuff from USPS from america can take 2 months sometimes for something not much bigger bigger than a regular letter, and city link a.k.a (shitty link) seem to loose stuff frequently.

MB models are top class on the other hand and they are just top class, always try and go to them first as i know there will not be any issues.

Royal Mail are getting so bad, im actually going to stop ordering online.
Had countless problems from, parcels being dumped, sent to the wrong house, taking weeks to arrive, no card left if no ones in, even parcels opened with nothing in!!!
