Raising sv2 steering by 4mm

I'm in the process of building my SV2 and am looking to raise the steering by 4mm using the optional spacers.

What length screws will I need, and which ball studs do I need to get?

Hi Arran

I ran my Sv2 at Bury for the first time last Sunday but ran it kit standard. Woody has given me advice on build tips inc raising the Ackermann and ball studs 4mm but said nothing about using longer studs and screws but saying that Roger built his car so he probably wouldn't know ha!

I haven't started modding my car yet so I'm not totally sure, hopefully somebody on here can enlighten us.

you dont need longer screw for raising ackerman 4mm , but you do need large or xlarge ball studs for adding bump steer

how does raising the ball cup change ackerman then?

Ball cups...? No mention of ball cups mind. None.

You need to learn to stay off the drink and read things correctly before trying to pick holes in it.

so if you raise the ball stud height, you dont raise the ball cup? me think you need to practice what you preach!!!

You need to raise the ball cup by changing the ball stud, the same amount you raise the Ackerman to avoid bump steer.

you have to move the inner or outer ball forward or rearward on the steering linking or hub to adjust ackerman, raising the inner or outer ball does not alter ackerman!!
