Default X6 Gearing

Hi all
I just got my X6 the other day(Thanks DMS for the speedy postage)and was wondering what to gear a 6.5 on. It is a bonded LRP with the 4 speed gearbox.
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,
I'm running the LRP 6.5 with the 12.5mm Sintered Rotor on 22/78

You'll want a couple of teeth lower with a bonded. Try 20/81 or 21/81 (you might have difficulty getting the 20 to mesh with the 78 spur - especially if you have a heat sink around the motor can)

Best of Luck

20 should be OK, 19 fits on mine with the whiff of a dremel past the bulge for the 4th internal gear, there is loads of material there so it's fine to do IMHO.

Ref the heatsink, it's only Ellis that is such an animal he needs to run it (actually Nathan Ralls for similair animal tendancies ) For most of us it's not really needed. That said Ellis doesn't run any front window removed, if anyone ever has any heat issues, just open the front window up a bit to pull air through and it makes a significant difference!

I used to run 21/81 on the bonded arm with a 6.5 so I would start with that.

I don't actually really need the heatsink but as I don't ever really take the motor out I have just left it on, plus it looks rubbish with holes in the front window and is also not legal for the euro's. Dan of course has never worried about looks

E.

what would be a good starting point for an orion 7.5 sintered rotor motor using Lipos ?. i am guessing that 22-23/78 would be OK ?.
