kyosho shocks are easy to build ...
1)fill with oil to just below the threads in the body, allow to stand for a couple of minutes to get the air bubbles out. 2)slowly screw fully in the cartridges with the shafts all the way out. The shock should feel solid at this point with no movement in the shaft .... if there is any you still have air in them. 3) unscrew the cartridges 1 turn and slowly push the shaft in till it bottoms out ... nip up the cartridge finger tight. You should be able to move the shaft through it's full travel smothly with no resistance at the end of stroke ... if there is then you still have too much oil in. In that case pull out the shaft to full extension and slacken the cartridge 1/2 turn .... slowly push in shaft again. 4) check the rebound, it should be even across a pair and about 5-7mm. That's it. I find them super easy to build, far more so than top bleed shock like AE and because of the metal cartridge easier to gauge "tight" than Losi shocks. The Kyosho shocks are the best 1/10th shocks I have ever built, no question in my mind! |

Stock ones are W5194V and W5195V ...... I think the W5197 is the new shorter rears, best avoided at this time as there is no tower available to make them work on UK / European tracks!!

Cheers for the information rog just another question. I have now build several shocks and all work lovely.
The problem i am having now is the top of the shock cap breaking. To date i have broken 4 shock caps in the space of 4 weeks. Am I building them correctly. Or is it my driving style. Cheers |

the plastic caps can break if you land badly on them. Not much you can do about it except improve your landing from jumps etc
