Default Looking to start racing, Help!!

Hi Guys

I am looking at trying to start taking part in some race events but don't really know where to start. I have a Kyosho lazer Zx-5 and am ideally looking for somewhere to start racing in the midlands.

Can you guys either recommend some places in the midlands for 4wd buggy racing or give me some tips into starting out in RC racing

Cheers

Trev

The most important thing for me is only go as fast as you can handle. A lot of people try to go too fast, buy motors that they can't handle etc. For racing when you are starting out, slow and steady is much faster than fast and crash. going round a track with other cars is loads different to driving your car around a field or what have you.

I started out with a 14 turn in my 2wd, I think a 19 turn spec would be a similar motor and ideal for a 4wd. I have used a 19turn at nationals and really it just loses out on the straight a bit, around most tracks its competitive and easy to drive.

just my opinion though, I just think speed is important, and too much of it just makes you slower.

agreed with the jimmeh man, get a 19 turn to start with.. they are pleanty fast for the club/regional racer - it wil lbe ideal for some one starting out also.. they are great all round motors.

A good advice... some reading!!!

The previous version of the RC Handbook is available on AE website but is not updated regarding tires and motors!
