Well for $75 (£46) plus shipping including the shell you can't really go wrong! Shells alone are about £30!

i wonder if it really makes sense ...
Turnigy is making sensible electronics at sensible prices but; -how good (or bad) is the quality of the materials (plastic and metal)? -do they sell spares for that truck ? i think you'll spend quite a load of cash to make it reliable... it looks good though... buy it ! and tell us what you think

Never seen one before but the price is good,
might we worth trying one as a punt the real test whether it's worth using is how strong the transmission is, with SCT racing we now run on proper spikes/pins tyres on Astro/carpet with 8.5+ motors + boost and with the size of wheels it's a lot of strain on gearboxes/drivetrain so they need to be made of proper materials. It may look cheap to buy at first, but if it breaks because of cheap materials it will be expensive in long run having to ship parts in for it plus to get results you have to finish races. There are a fair few cheap trucks on the market as with buggys but they just don't cut it for racing with strength and reliability... if they are not strong enough to race then they'll make a poor basher too. |

Sounds cheap but you can only order it from Hobbykings chinese outlet at the moment, have you seen the price for postage
!!! SCT and postage comes to £85.34 at current rate and you could be clobbered for import duty as well which could add another £25-£40 to pay on top! starting to not sound so cheap now. It may also be made from chop plastics inferior quality and be more prone to breakages the body shell maybe vinyl which is used as a cheaper alternative to lexan but again a lot more prone to shattering. Stick to buying from the UK you can pick up a good Second hand SCT from the net for less or splash out on a new AR X2SC rolling chassis for under £100 far better truck and could work out cheaper than buying from abroad+ spares are readily available. |

Quote:
hobbyking euro is based in germany and you wont get any vat or post office charges from there, i purchase from them quite often and always over the £100 mark and never had any extras to pay, choose the cheapest postage too as sometimes its quicker than the postage double the price
